Lübeck information
The historic city of Lübeck is situated on the Trave river in Northern Germany and since 1987 declared as UNESCO World Heritage. It was one of the great mercantile cities in the Middle Ages and the capital of the Hanseatic League.
Here you find more 13th-15th-Century buildings than in all other large North German cities combined.
LübeckÃÂs best-known landmark is the àHolstentor ÃÂ, a city gate built 1464 -78 to protect the harbor. It today houses the Museum of Municipal History.

Travemünde , located a short distance away on the Baltic coast, is a popular spa resort where you can enjoy beach activities like sailing or surfing. It is easily reached by train from Lübeck main station.
