Lübeck information

Welcome to Lübeck

The historic city of Lübeck is situated on the Trave river in Northern Germany and since 1987 declared as UNESCO World Heritage. It was one of the great mercantile cities in the Middle Ages and the capital of the Hanseatic League.

Here you find more 13th-15th-Century buildings than in all other large North German cities combined.
Lübeck’s best-known landmark is the “ Holstentor “, a city gate built 1464 -78 to protect the harbor. It today houses the Museum of Municipal History.
